Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying two suspects who stole cash from ATMs.
Police say two masked suspects got into the Valleyview SaveOn Foods using a Stihl gas-powered saw last Wednesday, October 22 around 3:45 a.m., and stole cash from the ATM. They were seen driving away in a white pick-up truck that was reported stolen later that morning.
Then on October 23 around 1:15 a.m., the Rexall pharmacy on Highway 5A was broken into in a similar manner, and cash was once again stolen from an ATM.
“Surveillance video shows that it was the same suspects in both thefts,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “One suspect is wearing a black hoodie and tan-coloured Carhartt pants. The other was wearing a plaid jacket with snap closures and black pants. Both wore masks and gloves.”
Shelkie says the stolen white pick-up truck used in the first theft has been recovered in Kamloops.
She’s urging people with information of these thefts or knowledge of the suspects identities to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
