Enbridge says its natural gas pipeline is still running at a reduced pressure after a massive rupture near Prince George 13 months ago.
Spokesperson Mark Amundrud says despite that, the company thinks it will be able to supply enough gas to the market that consumers will not have to reduce their usage this winter.
“Certain segments have got the go-ahead through engineering assessments that they are 100 per cent safe to bring back up to full pressure. We are still waiting on a few other engineering assessments, so there’s still more to come. But it is our intention to have the pipeline be able to supply gas to communities in British Columbia without restriction.”
Amundrud says Enbridge thinks it knows what caused the pipeline rupture in October of 2018, but says it is still be investigated by the Transportation Safety Board.
