The Kamloops-Thompson School Board had a great year in 2018-19 when it comes to graduation rates.
SD 73 Board Chair Kathleen Karpuk says it was some of the best completion rates ever. “So our overall completion rate for the district for the 2018-19 year was 88.3%. When we take international students out of that number, our completion rate for resident students is at 92.5% and our aboriginal graduation rate was at 84.1% which is where our all student rate was last year.”
Karpuk says they’re very happy with those results. “Especially when we look back seven years and we look at our rates then, our completion rate for all students was only 78% and our aboriginal completion rate was 66%. So, we’ve had some massive gains.”
