With a number of vacancies on the BCLC Executive team, the interim CEO is confident those positions will be filled soon.
While speaking on NL Newsday, Greg Moore was asked if recruiting prospective candidates to Kamloops is a barrier.
“For some people it is, I will say for sure, but generally speaking, we are interviewing good quality candidates, and when we tell them that the job is located in Kamloops, and that there is travel between Kamloops and Vancouver, that’s not a barrier with people,” he said.
“A few of them have actually come on their own volition beforehand and then come back to us and said, ‘this is a great place.'”
Amidst some concerns of a slow leaking of jobs to the Lower Mainland, Moore once again reiterated BCLC’s commitment to keeping the headquarters in Kamloops.
“We’ve increased our number of employees here in Kamloops at a greater rate than Vancouver,” he said. “We’re also committed that we maintain the executive level that we have here, so the numbers. It might not be sometimes the exact position but we will ensure that we have the same number of executives here in Kamloops as we did before.”
While BCLC is currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer, a Chief Compliance Officer and a Vice President of Human Resources, Moore is confident those positions will all be filled soon.
