Kamloops Fire Rescue says there have been several significant crashes locally since snow started falling last night.
Platoon captain Troy Grant says fire crews were called to nine different crashes between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
“Most were minor, people going off the road into a ditch or into a tree. We did have a couple that happened on highways, one on the Trans-Canada one on the East Trans-Canada. The East Trans-Canada was the only one where people were sent to hospital, two people went to hospital,” Grant says, adding that crash happened east of Grand Boulevard late last night.
He says it’s not unusual to see this many crashes during one the first snowfalls of the year, and says drivers need to slow down and keep their distance.
