The 27th annual Toys for Kids Breakfast is back at the Delta Hotel in downtown Kamloops tomorrow, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
General Manager Brian Pillbeam says he’s excited for the event to return to his hotel, after it had to be moved last year, due to the renovations.
“You know, Marriott as a company, one of the things that we did like in signing that franchise agreement is they really do believe in community engagement and supporting great causes,” he said.
“And what better one quite honestly than this one. It really does ramp up the Christmas season and our team gets very excited and pitches in and volunteers their time early in the morning.”
Pillbeam is urging Kamloopsians to bring an unwrapped toy or a $10 cash donation in exchange for a buffet breakfast.
“So many people are there, over 1,000 people we welcome through the doors annually and just sort of rotating through as quick as we can,” he said.” Just the energy and the spirit is there, and if you don’t have the Christmas spirit yet, you’re certainly going to get it when you’re there.”
Pillbeam says they money that is raised will go towards the Christmas Amalgamated and the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation to help fund upgrades at the hospital.
The event is in partnership with our sister station, K97-5.
