Another step towards a new cannabis grow facility being built in Logan Lake.
CAO Randy Lambright says at this point, the District is waiting for the company MedFlora to come ask for a building permit.
“Council just gave final approval to the zoning, to be able to make that happen. So the property off our Industrial Park off Apex [Drive] is now zoned to permit that.”
Council’s rezoning approval came after a public information session in the summer and a public hearing in the fall.
MedFlora is planning to build a cannabis production plant close to 500,000 square feet in size in Logan Lake’s industrial park, which it expects could bring around 100 jobs to the community. Construction is expected to start sometime in 2020.
