The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has hired a new Chief Financial Officer after months of searching.
Alan Kerr will be based out of the Kamloops office, and he will assume the role, and that of VP of Finance and Corporate Services, on Jan. 13, 2020.
“We look forward to welcoming Mr. Kerr to BCLC and Kamloops, both of which will benefit greatly from his expertise, leadership and commitment to community,” said Interim President and CEO Greg Moore.
“Alan’s extensive experience in financial and people management will be invaluable to BCLC into the future as we continue our journey to deliver great gambling and greater good.”
Kerr is currently the Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer for the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, based in Ottawa. He has had a successful career in both the public and private sectors, as well as the Royal Canadian Navy, BCLC stated in a release.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Kerr also has a Masters in Strategic Leadership and National Resource Strategy, with experience in finance, operations, and people management.
“Professionally, I am excited to contribute to the leadership of an organization with a strong social purpose and commitment to giving back,” said Kerr. “Personally, my wife Gwen and I are looking forward to contributing to the community of Kamloops and pursuing many of our hobbies including skiing, hiking, and golfing.”
Moore says BCLC is still looking to fill other executive vacancies in both its Kamloops and Vancouver offices – including a Vice President, Social Purpose & Stakeholder Engagement; Vice President, Compliance, Legal & Security & Chief Compliance Officer; and Vice President, People & Culture.
He says BCLC is committed to maintaining a complement of executives both at its head office in Kamloops and its Vancouver office.
