A minor cabinet shuffle at the BC Legislature this morning.
Burnaby-Deer Lake MLA Anne Kang has been appointed the Minister of Citizen’s Services, replacing Jinny Sims who resigned in October after it came to light that she was under police investigation.
Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall will be the Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness, that portfolio was formerly Jobs, Trade and Technology, held by Bruce Ralston, the MLA for Surrey-Whalley.
Ralston will take Mungall’s old portfolio as the new Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.
In a statement, Premier John Horgan said the changes reflect the province’s “commitment to a strong, sustainable and innovative economy.”
