With the Blazers having a remarkable season so far, many business in the downtown core want to get involved with the team and help support the club, as well as themselves.
Executive Director of Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association, Carl DeSantis says that these types of collaborations can be great exposure to the hockey team and beneficial for local markets.
“One that we are going to roll out immediately, as in starting right away next week, Burger, Beer and Blazers.” says DeSantis
“The way we see this is, participating restaurants are going to have limited tickets for the Blazers games and those of us who go to the restaurants for the Burger, Beer and Blazers can get a package deal”.
“Eat, drink and get to the game to be merry.”
With those collaborations, there are many events and promotions that go on throughout the Blazers season, that fans can take part of.
“Talking about about a number of initiatives to get downtown involved in supporting the Blazers and vise versa”
“One of the initiatives you probably seen the Orange Shirt Campaign on game day, we’ve got over 500 shirts.”
“Five hundred employees working the business and services throughout downtown on game days are wearing these orange t-shirts, just to demonstrate that we too are fans” DeSantis says.
