Interior Health says two elevators in the Clinical Services Building of the Royal Inland Hospital are back in service, after being shut down for a week because of an equipment failure.
The outages happened on Jan. 17, and as of last night IH says repairs are done on both. The outage was first expected to last until Jan. 31.
The health authority says parking is now park to normal at the hospital. Visitor and patient parking in the four-level parkade at the Clinical Services Building had to be moved to the upper parkade behind the hospital behind, which is typically reserved for staff.
“Signage will be in place to direct public back to the CSB parkade. Drivers should note that this parkade is strictly for patients and visitors while they are conducting business at Royal Inland Hospital,” IH says.
Meanwhile, IH is in the process of planning upgrades to a number of elevators at the hospital – a project that has been in the works for several years and is expected to cost more than $1 million.
