Overlanders Bridge seen from the west of the span
Drivers in Kamloops are being told to expect a slower than normal commute for the next few days near the south end of the Overlanders Bridge.
Contractors will be scaling the rock wall on the south end of the bridge to assess the stability of the rock face after a rock slide in the area on Saturday.
“After some rocks fell from the rock face over the weekend, crews are assessing the hillside to ensure that the roadway below is safe for pedestrians and motorists,” said Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell.
He says there will be a 30 km/hr construction speed zone through the area, along with traffic control devices.
You can hear more from Crundwell who will be speaking on The Jeff Andreas Show at 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday.
