With the WHL season suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kamloops Blazers are sending their players home, amid increasing travel restrictions.
Team President and COO Don Moores says all players will return to Kamloops at a time yet to be determined.
“Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our players, fans, staff, and stakeholders,” said Moores.
Season ticket holders will be given an update when more information is available.
Of the 24 players on the Blazers roster, eight have hometowns across B.C., six in Saskatchewan, five in Alberta, and three in Manitoba. The Blazers two import players are from Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
The Blazers were the only team who had clinched a WHL Division title when play was suspended on March 12, with just ten days to go in the WHL regular season.
