
B.C.’s Health Minister says there will be new ads coming for the government focusing on health information.
Adrian Dix was speaking after the opposition BC Liberals raised concerns about ICBC ads on TV, saying the government should shift its focus because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“ICBC, for example, has proactively pulled its campaign on the changes to make ICBC more affordable,” Dix said. “On health information, our focus is on COVID-19 and you will see that, in the days to come, reflected in new advertising.”
Dix says the ad buys take place buying takes place weeks – sometimes months – in advance. He noted that all Crown Corporations have been pulling many of its ads that are currently airing across B.C.
“The priority is to ensure that people have info they need during the COVID 19 pandemic,” added Dix “Its why we do daily briefings and share our messages in multiple languages around the province.
