Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park being closed is expected to have some sort of impact to business in Logan Lake.
That’s according to mayor Robin Smith, who was commenting on the impact of all provincial parks being closed until further notice.
“I think we do see a fair bit of spinoff within the municipality from visitors. So I’m sure particularly places like the Go-To Shop, the grocery store, and of course the liquore store and all of those sorts of things.”
However, Smith says some of the losses from visitors can be replaced by locals.
She expects more people are doing their shopping locally instead of in Kamloops or Merritt, based on the province’s recommendation for people to stay home.
