An Amber Light tribute to front-line healthcare workers will take place in Kamloops tomorrow evening.
It will be led by Kamloops-based Dawson Construction and Eagle Rock Construction, in conjunction with the BC Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association. There are about 30 vehicles expected to take part in Wednesday’s parade.
“Crews and trucks from several different local construction and highway maintenance companies are expected to participate,” said Lenny Kazakoff, General Manager of Dawson Construction. “Similar shows of support are also scheduled at the same time in many other communities across B.C.”
The parade will get underway just before 7 p.m. at the Sahali Mall and head down Columbia Street past Royal Inland Hospital.
“The parade will show support for nurses, doctors, and other care workers who every day put themselves on the front line in the battle against COVID-19,” Kazakoff added.
As in keeping with physical distancing protocols, he says there will be just one driver per vehicle.
Earlier this month, Kamloops paramedic Terry Jessup began organizing what he was hoping would lead to a daily parade of emergency vehicles driving past Royal Inland Hospital as a salute to health-care workers.
