The parents of Ryan Shtuka who vanished at Sun Peaks seven weeks ago are now going over a new search location.
Ryan’s mother Heather Shtuka says they are re-examining a possible sighting of her son the morning he disappeared causing them to shift the search.
“We are searching in a newer area than we have been for the past six weeks.”
Shtuka says it has been a tough two months for the family as they search non-stop for their son.
“We have reached the end of most of the areas we can do. Although we cannot be 100% certain with the amount of snow that is still here. It does give us the opportunity to say what other information do we know? Lets then move into that new area and try searching.”
Shtuka admits it is struggle for her and her husband not to mention the rest of the family.
“We are advocates for our son because if we are not here there is nobody else that will search for him. We feel like that is what we need to do. On the other hand as parents how do you feel like you are not failing the ones that you still have that need you? We are so lucky that our daughters are as strong and beautiful as they are but you still feel like you are missing something. I can’t leave. Scott and I can’t leave but it is hard to stay sometimes too.”
Ryan Shtuka disappeared after leaving a house party at Sun Peaks in the early hours of Saturday morning February 17th.
