Kamloops RCMP say a teenaged girl is getting better, after nearly drowning in the North Thompson River on the weekend.
Police say just after 8 p.m. on Friday night the 15-year-old had walked out into river and suddenly collapsed. It happened in Heffley, near Station Road and Zirnhelt Road.
Paramedics at the scene were able to save her live, and they say her condition is improving.
She was taken to hospital in critical condition on Friday night.
Mounties also say alcohol may have been a factor in the near-drowning.
Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP.
