Highway 5A at Stump Lake is open to a single lane of alternating traffic, after being closed for about two weeks due to flooding.
Drive BC says there is a temporary gravel surface in place, and there will be a 50 per cent load restriction for the time being. Drivers are asked to obey all traffic control personnel, and expect delays if in the area.
The Ministry of Transportation previously told NL News that the highway could potentially reopen today. Drivers between Merritt and Kamloops can still detour on the Coquihalla instead.
The highway was closed on May 4 because of flooding at Stump Lake, which has no natural outflow.
The next update from Drive BC is expected next at noon on Tuesday.
