The Yellowhead Highway is closed in the North Thompson because of a crash involving a semi-truck.

The closure is about 36 kilometres north of Blue River, after a crash happened there just before 3 p.m.

Drive BC says the crash between Lempriere Bridge and Chappell Creek Rec Site is being assessed, and there is no detour available. The highway is expected to reopen at 7 p.m., check Drive BC for the latest.

A photo shared to social media shows a Home Hardware semi involved in the crash. It is unclear if any other vehicles were involved.

There’s also no information just yet on any injuries.
