
The average sales price for a single-family home in Kamloops hit a price record in May, despite the number of sales still being substantially lower than normal as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
A single-family home in the Tournament Capital sold for $536,832 in May, which is a jump of 8.6 per cent from May of 2019. The previous single-family home price record was just over $530,000, which was set in February.
The average selling price last month for all types of units in Kamloops was $485,106, which is nearly six per cent higher than 12 months earlier ($458,512).
Meanwhile, the amount of home sales dropped to 175 last month, a 46.3 per cent decline when compared to May of 2019. That’s after a 56 per cent drop in sales in April.
