Investigators have identified a woman who died along the side of the Trans-Canada Highway in the Fraser Canyon earlier this week.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the woman who died at that scene is 29-year-old Alicia Berg, who is from Langley.
Berg was found just before 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday lying next to the highway near Toll Road in Yale, and died from her injuries at the scene.
Her injuries are “suspicious” according to IHIT, but little other information has not been shared publicly.
“In these early stages of the investigation, we have learned that Alicia led a transient lifestyle in the Fraser Valley area,” according to IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Frank Jang.
“There remains many yet unanswered questions surrounding Alicia’s death and we are appealing to anyone who knew her to come forward.”
IHIT and RCMP are looking for dashcam footage from anyone who drove between Hope and Boston Bar on Wednesday, between midnight and 5 a.m.
Investigators are also asking anyone to come forward who may have seen Berg before she died. She’s described by police as a white woman who had green hair, and she was five-foot-six and 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, grey and black sweatpants and sandals.
