A tough call for the Kamloops Women’s Soccer League but one that was unavoidable given the circumstances.
The league has cancelled both their competitive and open divisions season due to COVID-19. Speaking to NL Sports, League vice-president Sarin Warman says their members are taking it well, despite the bad news.
“The disappointment comes from a lot of things. a lot of people look forward to their two days a week of soccer for their mental and physical well-being,” she said. “So its definitely a lot of disappointment out there, but everybody is really good and positive and understanding of the current situation.”
“We just have to look forward to a return to play when its safe to do so, and it looks like it will probably be in 2021.”
Meanwhile, the Kamloops Men’s Soccer League operates an open division, a 30-plus league, and a 45-plus league. Their website says they are in a holding pattern for now.
