One person is dead after a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway in Kamloops this morning in the eastbound lanes between Tanager Drive and Grand Boulevard in Valleyview.

Police say at about 4:20 a.m., the victim was hit by a semi-truck and a personal vehicle. This person was pronounced dead at the scene and Mounties are working to identify that person.

DriveBC says the highway has reopened as of 9 a.m.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, and anyone with information is being asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
