An Edmonton radio personality who had his truck vandalized in Kamloops doesn’t think the incident is indicative of how all British Columbians feel about Albertans.
Terry Evans woke up on Tuesday morning to a broken driver’s side window on his truck but the St. Albert resident who was born in Victoria and raised in Creston isn’t angry at British Columbians.
“I’m a B.C. boy through and through and it’s just disappointment more than anything,” he told NL News. “You know I believe there’s common good in people and there’s just some people that just have too much time on their hands and not enough brains in their heads.”
“We generally don’t have too many problems. We’ve had vandalism in Penticton and now in Kamloops over the years but isolated incidents and you know, for one reason or another and I’m not going to stop coming back to B.C. even if it does cost my a driver’s side door window every once in a while, I love it here.”
Evans tweeted a picture of the broken window and called out the Premier John Horgan for his comments that out of province travellers should ride a bike or take a bus while in the province if they’re worried about being harassed because of their licence plates.
Horgan responded on twitter saying, “no matter someone’s circumstances, where they come from, or what’s on their license plate, this is never acceptable,” while aksing people to be respectful to one other.
(2) Hey @jjhorgan. And your suggestion that out of province travellers should ride a bike or take a bus is the most asinine thing I’ve heard from an elected official. Sheer stupity and arrogance. Perhaps speak out against these kinds of actions. Grow a pair. Idiot. pic.twitter.com/2YdugejdZc
