Another 47 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in B.C. today.
Just one of those is in the Interior Health region.
This is the eighth straight day that B.C. has reported at least 28 cases.
But provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says these new cases are all being traced back to their origins.
“We have kept, and continue to keep, our community transmission in B.C. low. That is incredibly important. Even with the numbers that we have seen in the last week. Obviously they’re higher than I would like to see. But we know where these are happening. We know where these transmission events are happening.”
There are now 371 active cases of the virus in B.C., which is 20 more than yesterday. And 1,518 people are self-isolating who were directly exposed to someone with the virus.
There were no new deaths from the virus reported today in the province, and there has not been one since July 31.
Eleven people are now in hospital with COVID-19, and five of those people are in intensive care.
