Interior Health says the three staff members at the Okanagan Correctional Centre near Oliver were exposed to COVID-19 at an off-site two-day training session.
All three people are in isolation at home as health officials work to contact trace to try and find other people who may have been exposed to the virus.
“There is no evidence of community transmission, and we are closely monitoring the situation,” a statement from IHA said.
It is the second time there has been an outbreak of COVID-19 at the jail, almost four months after another outbreak was declared over on April 20. Visits have been restricted since March 12, and IHA says any new inmates are isolated for 14 days to prevent the virus from potentially spreading to inmates.
