The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit and Dive Team will be at the north end of the Lafarge bridge today trying to find and safely dispose of a bag of explosives.

Kamloops RCMP say they got a call around 7:40 p.m. yesterday from a local angler who found a plastic bag with the explosives while pulling anchor near the bridge. Police say this man put the bag back into the water near the boat launch.

As it stands, the boat launch and the surrounding area is closed to the public, and police are asking people to stay away.
