Canada Post says there may be delays in mail delivery in Kamloops and some other B.C. municipalities today because of the smoky conditions.
There is a Yellow Delivery service alert in place for Kamloops as well as communities like Abbotsford, parts of Metro Vancouver, Nanaimo, Cranbrook, and Vernon.
“A yellow service alert means we are going to do our best to deliver, but there may be delays in parts of Central and Southern British Columbia,” said a statement from Canada Post.
A red delivery service alert – meaning no mail delivery for the day – is in place for communities like New Westminster, Trail, White Rock, and the Okanagan Valley.
Delivery in those communities will resume once it is deemed safe to do so.
The move comes one day after Canada Post said it was suspending mail delivery in the Kamloops area due to smoky conditions though some people report that mail delivery never stopped completely yesterday.
Smoky conditions are expected to persist in Kamloops until at least Thursday.
