The Southeast District RCMP are releasing more information about a wild arrest by members of the Emergency Response Team in the Chase area last Friday.
Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says Michael Luttman was wanted province-wide on several outstanding firearms-related warrants.
In a release today, he says Chase RCMP members, the Emergency Response Team and a police helicopter moved in on a property in the Adams Lake area around 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
He says when officers tried to pull over a pickup truck driven by Luttman he tried to flee and crashed into an ERT vehicle. A woman in that vehicle was taken into custody with minor injuries from the crash.
Luttman himself was taken into custody around 12:15 p.m. on Friday and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say they found a handgun when they searched the pickup, and also recovered several high powered firearms and countless rounds of ammunition that were ejected during the crash.
O’Donaghey says a member of the Emergency Response Team was also taken to hospital as a precaution but later released.
The investigation continues.
