Kamloops RCMP say several people were taken into custody after a report of shots fired in an alley in the 400-block of Fortune Drive yesterday, Sept. 27.
Sgt. Kelly Butler says police responded about 9:50 p.m., and found that a suspect had had some sort of an interaction with someone in a vehicle.
While the vehicle sped away police say a single shot was fired into the air by the suspect who then went into a nearby house.
“The residence was contained and safely evacuated with the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT),” Butler said, in a statement. “Several people from a suite in the residence were taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.”
