Crews are still trying to figure what caused a massive fire at a warehouse in Louis Creek over the weekend.
Barriere Fire Rescue Chief Ashley Wohlgemuth says crews were called to the 4100-block of Agate Bay Road, at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. She says the Chu Chua Fire Department responded as well, noting crews were on scene for about five hours.
“When we got the call we were told there were also some explosions happening… And by the time we got there it was already on the ground, so when we got there it was just defensive firefighting. Making sure nothing else around it caught fire.”
Wohlgemuth says is going back to the scene this afternoon with a fire commissioner to try and nail down a cause.
“And we’re going to do a more thorough investigation. With the type of building, it is harder to find the point of origin. With the way it all landed on the ground before anyone had called us. It does make it a little bit harder.”
The fire happened at the “Spray All” warehouse which produces foam insulation and paint coatings.
Wolhgemuth says no one was inside the building when the fire happened and no one was hurt.
