A Kamloops man who had several warrants out for his arrest is now in police custody.
Kamloops RCMP say Kevin James Beattie was arrested last Friday, Oct. 30, during a vehicle stop on Eighth Street on the North Shore that was conducted by regular and gang enforcement officers from the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU).
Cpl. Melanie Murdy says Beattie was arrested without incident. She also notes that police found a sawed off shotgun, a scope, several rounds of shotgun ammunition, and a digital scale with drug residue on it after the searched the vehicle he was in.
“This investigations continues and it is expected that Beattie will appear in court to face further charges recommended by the BC Prosecution Service,” Murdy said.
Beattie was wanted on charges of possessing a weapon and ammunition while prohibited, driving while suspended, and theft under $5,000.
