The active case count has now surpassed 5,000 for the first time, jumping today to 5,133. Another 9,781 people are in isolation after being in contact with someone who had the virus.
There are also now 142 people in hospital with the virus and 46 people in intensive care.

Within the Interior, there are now 146 active cases and one person is in hospital. Active cases in the health authority have risen from 95 to 146 in the past seven days.
Prior to today’s case count being released, Interior Health warned of surging COVID-19 cases in the area. It also advised residents within IH not to travel to the Lower Mainland or any other COVID-19 hotspots if they don’t need to.
In a statement, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry spoke about commemorating Remembrance Day.
“Let’s honour our veterans for all that they have done for our province and nation. Let’s recognize the sacrifices and hardship they faced and overcame by making our own small sacrifices right now,” Henry says, referencing public health guidelines like keeping your social circle to six people.
“While the ceremonies may be remote, the poppies virtual and our legions closed this Remembrance Day, we can still show our appreciation, in a safe and respectful way, to the men and women who have proudly served our nation.”
