
A winter storm warning is in place for the Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Hope.
The forecast from Environment Canada says five centimetres of snow will fall tonight at the Coquihalla Summit before 20-30 cm of snow comes down by later Tuesday night.
The warning recommends to postpone travelling that stretch of highway while the warning is in place.
Locally, Kamloops can expect 2-4 cm of snow tonight and another 2 cm by tomorrow afternoon. Tonight, wind gusts of up to 50 kilometres per hour can also be expected while the snow flies.
The Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops is expected to see 5 cm of snow tomorrow. At the Rogers Pass on Highway 1, 15 cm of snow is in the forecast tomorrow. On the Okanagan Connector, 12-14 cm is in the forecast tomorrow as well.
