A man wanted for attempted murder was arrested this morning in downtown Kamloops.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says Kamloops RCMP were informed just after 10 a.m. that a suspect for that offense “may be at a location on Victoria Street.” Evelyn says officers went there with a K-9 unit and arrested a man without incident.
Fourty-year-old Terrance Jones, of no fixed address, faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, using a firearm for an indictable offense and possessing a firearm for a dangerous purpose.
Jones was one of three men charged in September with attempted murder after a stabbing in Blind Bay on August 16. Police said the 30-year-old victim showed up bleeding to a home on Forest Drive that night asking for help, after apparently being stabbed at a car wash. At the time, police did not say what a motive might’ve been for the stabbing, but said it was targeted.
The other two suspects, 33-year-old Jordy Moyan and 36-year-old Alexander Boucher, were both arrested in September following charges being laid.
Jones had turned himself in to police in late September. Asked about the circumstances leading to him being wanted in the community, Evelyn tells NL News she did not have all of the information and says some of the details may be under a publication ban in the Salmon Arm law courts.
