
Interior Health is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 today at the Canim Lake Band, as B.C. reports 446 new cases and nine deaths.
The health authority declared an outbreak yesterday when there were 32 cases. Today, it says there are now 45 cases linked to the First Nation east of 100 Mile House.
Province-wide, there are now 5,045 active cases of COVID-19, with 378 people in hospital and 72 people in intensive care.
In Interior Health, there were 67 new cases and active cases in the region are up to 895, with 37 people in hospital and nine people in critical care.
Meanwhile, 62,294 people in B.C. have been vaccinated against COVID-19, which is about 2,500 more people than yesterday.
Also today, IH reported 19 new cases linked to Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna, bring the cluster of cases there to 162. Of those, 107 cases are residents of Big White. Right now there are 29 active cases.
There remain active COVID-19 outbreaks at nine long-term care facilities in Interior Health, with eight in the Okanagan and one in Williams Lake. An outbreak also remains active at a Teck Resources coal mine in the East Kootenays.
