The province has seen another 519 cases of COVID-19 and 12 deaths today from the virus.
That includes 84 new cases and four deaths in Interior Health.
The four deaths in IH were all at long-term care homes in the Okanagan; two at McKinney Place in Oliver, one at Sunnybank in Oliver and one at Creekside Landing in Vernon.
“I want to offer our condolences to all the families and caregivers. We continue to see COVID-19 activity in many areas of the southern Interior, so please remain vigilant in following the COVID-19 precautions,” IH CEO Susan Brown says in a statement.
Province-wide, active cases of the virus are now at 4,810, with 360 people in hospital and 76 people in critical care.
While provincial active cases have steadily declined in the past two weeks, they continue to rise in the Interior; IH now has 905 active cases, passing 900 for the first time, with 35 people in hospital and nine people in critical care.
