Police seize weapons, drugs during Sun Rivers traffic stop
Evelyn says Mounties received about 319 calls for service from midnight on Friday to 9 a.m. today, including one that led to a significant seizure of illegal drugs and weapons in Sun Rivers.
On Saturday at about 12:50 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle in Sun Rivers that had been speeding down Highway 5.
Evelyn says police noticed drugs inside when approaching the vehicle and promptly arrested the driver. After searching the vehicle, she says police also uncovered a sawed-off shotgun and ammo, as well as knives and suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The man arrested at the scene has now been released, and the investigation is ongoing according to Evelyn.
Man robbed walking on Red Bridge
