Another COVID-19 exposure in a school in Kamloops – this time at Beattie Elementary.
In a letter to parents, Principal Mark Orr says the exposure happened on Thursday and Friday last week, Jan. 20 and 21.
He says health officials are contact tracing to try and identify people who may have come in direct contact with the people who tested positive for COVID-19.
“If you are not contacted by Interior Health Authority, it has been determined that your child is not at risk of developing COVID-19,” Orr said.
No further details will be released by SD73 to protect the privacy of people who test positive, though people who have questions or concerns about COVID-19 are asked to call 811.
There have now been COVID-19 exposures at 15 schools across the School District 73 – ten of which have happened this semester.
Superintendent Terry Sullivan is urging people to follow provincial guidelines in order to prevent further transmission of the virus.
