Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a suspect who was involved in an alleged spitting assault two weeks ago, on Jan. 12.
Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to a retail store in the 700-block of Tranquille Road – near the Northills Shopping Centre – around 2:13 p.m. that day after another man reported he had been spit on by someone who was asked to leave the store.
The suspect – an Indigenous man, standing five-feet six – was wearing a blue Canucks sweater, jeans, and a black and white hat.
He left the area on a bike and police were not able to find him or identify him despite patrolling the area.
“The suspect’s photo is being released in hopes that the public can assist police in this investigation by identifying the man,” Evelyn said.
Police are asking the suspect, or anyone who can identify him, to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file number 21-1297.
