Kamloops RCMP are hoping to talk to the owner of a burgundy Ford F250 or F350 truck that is vehicle of interest in relation to an ongoing arson investigation from Nov. 28, 2020.
RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were called around 2:17 a.m. to 6th Avenue and Lansdowne Street after reports of sparks coming from a construction site. Shortly after, police say a man was seen running down the road with a jerry can, and a vehicle was heard leaving the area.
Firefighters put out two smouldering fires on the second floor of the building.
“Officers obtained surveillance footage which showed a vehicle coming and going several times from the area,” Evelyn said. “Police would like to talk to the owner of the vehicle, or whoever was driving it at the time, as part of their investigation.”
She says the burgundy truck had a unique boat or lumber rack, and the driver’s side headlight also appeared to be burnt out.
If you own the truck or know the people who do, you’re asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2020-39478.
