There were 117 cases of COVID-19 reported in the Kamloops local health area between Jan. 24-30, which is a very slight decrease from the 124 cases the week earlier.
It is the second straight week where the number of cases in the Kamloops area were higher than the cases in the Kelowna area after 77 cases were reported there last week.
Of the 117 cases, Interior Health says 33 were listed as associated to the RIH outbreak which as of today was up to 91 cases. Some of the RIH cases were reported in the previous week’s data, while others will be recorded in next week’s update.
Within Interior Health, the highest case counts last week were in the Merritt local health area (24), the Cariboo-Chilcotin LHA (72), and in the Fernie LHA (29).
In the Kamloops area, there was just one case last week in the North Thompson LHA, which includes Clearwater, Vavenby and Blue River. There were another four cases in the South Cariboo LHA, which covers Clinton, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, Spences Bridge and Lytton.
The Kamloops LHA includes the communities of Sun Peaks, Chase, Little Fort, Barriere, Savona, Tobiano, and Logan Lake.
