Kamloops RCMP say three people are in custody after a large police presence in the Ord Road area earlier this morning.

Spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were called after a man’s bike was robbed by someone who appeared to have a firearm in that part of Kamloops around 7:15 a.m. She says several people were arrested after the suspect’s vehicle was found nearby.

“An airsoft pistol and a quantity of drugs were seized by police during the investigation,” Evelyn said, noting there is no risk to the public as the victim and suspect knew each other.

Evelyn says three people remain in custody at the moment as police are investigating.
