A staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 at Chartwell Residence retirement home in Kamloops.
Management at Chartwell sent out a letter to residents, staff and their families about the positive case.
According to a person close to the situation, the employee who tested positive has not worked in the time that they have been infectious, meaning no monitoring or contract tracing is currently required.
Interior Health only comments on case numbers in healthcare facilities when there is an outbreak.
Chartwell, at 628 Tranquille Road, provides independent living, assisted living and long-term care units for residents.
Today, a COVID-19 outbreak was reported at another Chartwell facility; the province announced an outbreak at Chartwell Carrington in Vernon, saying one staff member and one resident have tested positive for the virus.
