
There were two deaths at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops reported today linked to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Interior Health has not yet directly addressed those deaths, but its daily update shows there are now three total deaths at RIH as a result of the outbreak. Before today, there was just one.
Despite the new deaths, there were no new cases today at RIH, and the outbreak remains at 105 total cases, including 69 staff and 35 patients.
There were also no new cases at three other COVID-19 outbreaks at healthcare facilities in Kamloops.
The outbreak at Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre remains at 32 cases and two deaths, and it includes 24 residents and eight staff.
At Westsyde Care Residences, there are still 30 total cases and one death. The outbreak there includes 16 residents and 14 staff.
And at Highridge Home and Singh House, the outbreak remains at 13 cases. The group care home has seen eight staff members and five residents test positive for the virus.
