A Kamloops Mountie was bitten while arresting a woman on Monday afternoon.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says police were called to the 1200-block of the West Trans-Canada Highway on Monday, at about 12:40 p.m., to an unwanted person report.
Evelyn says a woman refused to leave the area when asked and was promptly arrested. She says the woman bit an officer while resisting arrest.
“The officer suffered a minor injury, but is expected to fully recover,” Evelyn says.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested and released with a court date pending. Charges including assaulting a police officer have been recommended.
