A first-degree murder conviction was handed down in Kamloops court today after a fatal shooting more than two years ago in Brocklehurst.
A jury has found Hugh McIntosh guilty for the death of Jason Glover, Crown prosecutor Sarah Firestone told NL News. McIntosh was also found guilty for attempted murder of Kelly Callsas.
The fatal shooting happened on Feb. 15, 2019, at a home in Brock, in the area of Tranquille Road and Southill Street. Kamloops RCMP said at the time it was targeted connected to the local drug trade.
A first-degree murder conviction comes with a life sentence and no chance of parole for 25 years.
McIntosh’s accomplice in the killing, Gordie Braaten, pled guilty to manslaughter last week, according to Firestone. He will be sentenced sometime next month.
