Kamloops councillor Dale Bass is set to join Jeff Andreas and NL Newsday for the March edition of Radio NL’s Community Town Hall.
Each month, a Kamloops city councillor will be on hand to answer your questions about the city. It gets underway following the major news to 4:00 and will run until 5:00.
Those looking to ask questions can call or text 250 374-5345 during the 4:00 hour, email nlnews@radionl.com, or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter.
Some around the Kamloops City Council table have expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage with the public. Dennis Walsh has said that having it on the radio is a nice touch because doing this kind of exercise in person is off the table as long as we’re in a pandemic.
“I think there’s been a lack of access to council, obviously we can’t have public meetings so the next best thing to a public meeting is to have a radio town hall,” he said. “People will call in, they can email in and we’ll get a feel for what’s happening in the city. I think that what it’s all about, public engagement.”
The Town Hall will run on the last Wednesday of each month on NL Newsday with Jeff Andreas.
Councillor Mike O’Reilly joined Newsday for the inaugural town hall session in February. It can be heard below.
