The Southeast District RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a suspicious death in Adams Lake.

Mounties were called to a home in the 8600-block of Holding Road at 11:30 p.m. last night, where a 60-year-old woman was found dead. Police are calling her death “unexpected.”

Staff Sgt. Scott Aschenbrenner says a man was arrested without incident at that scene.

“Although a full determination surrounding criminality has not yet been made, the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are being considered suspicious in nature.”

Police add the man arrested at the scene was “well-known” to the woman found dead, and say it appears there’s no risk to the general public.
